About our Data Science team:

Our data science team comprises years of experience in recommendation algorithms (BCCN Berlin) and Bioinformatics (HU-Berlin). We are taking a science-first approach to build a platform on which we can run clinical trials (A/B testing) matching patients – based on their behavioral profiles – to medically supportive content.

About the role:

Our system comprises a Django REST API which drives the native Apps and a data processing infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services.

We are looking for a skilled Python Backend & Data Engineer who supports us with a broad variety of tasks e.g. developing, setting up and maintaining microservices (Flask, deployed on AWS Lambda or ECS), building stable streaming data pipelines (ETL, with the help of Dagster or DBT) or supporting the development of the existing Django backend.

Our Python Backend & Data Engineer will work with a modern tech stack (e.g. AWS Kinesis, Dagster, Terraform, Amazon ElastiCache, Flask + AWS Lambda, AWS ECS and more).

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the intersection of Python-based backend, development, and data engineering.

Your profile

Must:

  • You have excellent Python skills.

  • You are experienced with Django, Docker and (no-)SQL databases.

  • You show a high level of proactiveness and ownership, and a strong ability to prioritize.

  • You are fluent in English; German and other languages are welcome.

  • You are based in Berlin or would like to relocate.

Nice to have/ preferred:

  • You have experience with Flask and the AWS tech stack.

  • You have experience with Terraform.

  • You have experience with web-servers (Apache, Nginx, Caddy, Gunicorn).

Please note:

If you are a great Python developer with a problem-solving mentality, don't worry about the buzzwords. Talk to us! Please send us your CV reflecting the above mentioned requirements.

If applicable, add your Stackoverflow, Github or other relevant account names.

We are looking forward to getting to know you!

Why us?

  • Meaningful: 50% of people will develop cancer in their lifetime. With us, you can actively contribute to improving their situation.

  • Compensation: An attractive salary, flexible working hours and a Mac or Windows of your choice are part of our standard package!
  • Healthy corporate culture: The health of our employees is very important to us. This includes a respectful corporate culture that is not only characterized by appreciation, diversity and equality. We also promote a healthy work-life balance. Last but not least, we offer Kyan Health, a digital tool to support mental health. Use remains 100% anonymous and we cover the costs.

One in two people will develop cancer in their lifetime. While medical care is constantly improving, well-being and mental health often remain a major problem and cause great stress for those affected.

At the same time, studies show that digital therapy support with symptom tracking can significantly improve and even prolong the lives of cancer patients.*

This is where we come in: We are Fosanis, developer of the Mika app, and a fast-growing digital health start-up in the heart of Berlin. With our 10 million Euro Series A financing round, we are looking for further support to grow!

Our vision?

We want to improve the well-being and ultimately the therapy results of cancer patients. For this purpose, we have developed a digital companion: The Mika App.

We are the market leader in the field of patient support in oncology and have already been able to prove the effectiveness of Mika in clinical studies at the Charité and Leipzig University Hospital.

Our international team is not only highly competent and committed: Values such as empathy and reliability are also an integral part of our Company Values. Together we are strong and together we will become stronger. And this is where you come in! Apply now and become a part of our mission: "We empower people affected by cancer!"
